Specification for fire shutters (Revision of SS 489:2015+C1:2017)
OVERVIEW
This standard specifies the requirements for the inspection, maintenance and testing methods used to assess the fire-resistance of the shutter required to protect openings in walls and to resist passage of fire. The standard applies to fire-resistant vertical roller shutters, lateral rolling shutters, horizontal roller shutters and folding sliding shutters.
Users of the standard include architects, suppliers/manufacturers, TIC bodies and relevant government agencies.
