Draft - Specification for digital bunkering supply chain documentation
OVERVIEW
This standard specifies requirements for the main types of digital documents utilised and exchanged within bunkering supply chains, aligning with established business practices and bunkering standards such as SS 600, “Code of practice for bunkering by bunker tankers using tank gauging”, SS 648, “Code of practice for bunker mass flow metering” and SS 660, “Code of practice for bunker cargo delivery from oil terminal to bunker tanker using mass flow meter”.
This standard requires digital documents to conform to specific data specifications and document formats. Additionally, it requires users to adhere to defined processes for the issuance of these documents.
A Supplement that is in machine-readable format will also be provided when the standard is published. The Supplement is a data definitions file that programmers can use to automatically generate codes to promote data consistency across various IT systems.
Potential users of the standard include bunker suppliers, oil traders, oil terminals, bunker buyers, bunker surveyors, bunker fuel testing bodies, digital service providers, financial institutions, industry associations for banking/shipping and relevant government agencies.
