Code of practice for construction, installation, operation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems

OVERVIEW

This standard sets out requirements for the construction, installation, operation and maintenance of intruder alarm systems, including alarm equipment, outgoing signalling facilities, operating and maintenance procedures (covering administration of records).
The intent of this revision is to align SS 558 with the latest provisions of CEN / CENELEC and UL standards, which include considerations of cyber security and digitalisation of detection systems together with the associated signal processing and control equipment. The revision includes a new clause on cyber security.
Users of this standard include central alarm monitoring station operators, general security service providers, alarm system suppliers, design consultants, contractors, security managers and relevant government agencies.
