Electrical energy storage (EES) systems – Part 5-1: Safety considerations for grid-integrated EES systems – General Specification (Review of TR 77-2:2020) (Modified adoption of IEC 62933-5-1:2024)
OVERVIEW
This standard specifies safety considerations (e.g. hazards identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation) applicable to EES systems integrated with the electrical grid. It provides criteria to enable the safe application and use of electrical energy storage systems of any type or size intended for grid-integrated applications. This standard can be applied to all EES systems, but
for requirements specific to electrochemical EES systems, reference is also made to
IEC 62933-5-2.
TR 77-2 was reviewed with the intention to elevate it to a Singapore Standard.
Users of this standard include asset owners, developers, solution providers, engineers, contractors, consultants, TIC bodies, and relevant government agencies.
