Code of practice for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings
OVERVIEW
The Singapore Standard is applicable to all enclosed air-conditioned premises, except for residential premises, factory production areas, hospitals, polyclinics and laboratories.
It is applicable to all types of air-conditioning and air-distribution systems. It specifies IAQ parameters and limits for contaminants commonly found in indoor environments that are deemed acceptable to building occupants and to minimise the potential for adverse health effects. The acceptability may vary based on the individual occupant’s perception and susceptibility to various parameters. Due to the diversity of contaminants generated from indoor and outdoor sources, the contaminants covered in the standard are not exhaustive.
