Eurocode 3 - Design of steel structures - General rules - Structural fire design

OVERVIEW

Deals with the design of steel structures for the accidental situation of fire exposure. Only identifies differences from, or supplements to, normal temperature. Deals only with passive methods of fire protection.

Applies to steel structures that are required to fulfil this load bearing function if exposed to fire, in terms of avoiding premature collapse of the structure. Does not include rules for separating elements.

Gives principle and application rules for designing structures for specified requirements in respect of the load bearing function and the levels of performance.
