Specifies requirements and provides corresponding methods of test for helmets to be worn by riders and passengers of motor cycles and motor cycles with side cars excluding those used by participants in competitive events.
Does not specify requirements for accessories such as goggles, detachable peaks and detachable face covers.

This standard is replaced by SS 9:2024 and will be withdrawn after the transition period
