OVERVIEW
Covers the maintenance of switchgear for voltages up to and including 22 kV to ensure the safe and effective operation of an electrical system with minimum risk of breakdown and the consequent interruption of supply. Provides information on an organised system of routine maintenance to keep electrical switchgear, both indoor and outdoor, and its associated apparatus in good working order. Also draws attention to the precautions taken in order to maximise the safety of personnel while maintenance work is in progress. Excludes special maintenance requirements relating to explosion protected switchgear and controlgear.
