Specification for slip resistance classification of pedestrian surface materials
OVERVIEW
Sets out means of classifying pedestrian surface materials according to their frictional characteristics. The test methods specified in this standard enable characteristics of surface materials to be determined in either wet or dry conditions. This standard does not provide for the conditioning of specimens to account for in-service wear.
COMMENTS
Australian Standard AS 4586:2013, “Slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials” is endorsed as a Singapore Standard with the reference number SS 485:2022. AS 4586:2013 is published by Standards Australia and can be obtained from Standards Australia or its authorised distributors (see: www.standards.org.au).
