Point-of-care testing (POCT) – Requirements for quality and competence
OVERVIEW
Gives specific requirements applicable to point-of-care testing (POCT) and is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 15189. Requirements of this standard apply when POCT is carried out in a hospital, clinic and by a healthcare organisation providing ambulatory care. May be applied to transcutaneous measurements, the analysis of expired air, and in vivo monitoring of physiological parameters.
Not applicable to patients performing self-testing.
COMMENTS
This Standard is expected to be withdrawn in June 2023 and is replaced by SS ISO 15189:2023
