Remote clinical monitoring – API standard for information exchange and data standards
OVERVIEW
This Singapore Standard defines the application programming interface (API) standard for information exchange and data standards to:
a) ensure the interoperability of patient data collected by remote clinical monitoring (RCM) device solutions and their integration with end-user facing upper-stream systems such as electronic medical records (EMR)/clinic management systems (CMS) used by healthcare professionals, and patient portal systems used by residents.
b) allow system operators of EMR/CMS/Patient Portal systems to choose any RCM solution, with each RCM solution provider using the same set of APIs to integrate with their EMR/CMS/Patient Portal systems.
c) reduce the cost of deploying medical device integration solutions both within and outside of the healthcare environment.
Authentication and authorisation control of the APIs is outside of the scope of this standard.
