Liquid cooling in tropical data centres
OVERVIEW
This Singapore Standard provides requirements and recommendations for the deployment of liquid-cooled systems within data centres located in tropical climate zones.
The liquid-cooled systems covered in this standard are solutions where the coolant fluid removes heat directly from the heat source. The heat source generally comprises specific ITE components such as central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), and tensor processing units (TPUs). Rear-door solutions where liquid is used to remove ambient heat from air at the back of equipment racks, and other indirect liquid cooling solutions are out of scope. Two-phased or hybrid (single and two-phase) systems are also not covered in this standard.
This standard also covers planning and design for liquid-cooling facilities in tropical climates, and the deployment and management of liquid-cooled systems. Requirements and recommendations for maintenance, tracking sustainable performance, and risk management are also provided.
