Specification for clean and green urban farms – Layer farms
OVERVIEW
This standard sets the requirements for a farm management system and provides guidance on best practices to monitor resource optimisation and waste management, while ensuring the production of safe and high-quality produce through all phases of farm operations. This includes pre-production (e.g. egg hatching, breeding, pullet grow-out phase), production (e.g. feeding, egg laying, egg collection), and postproduction (e.g. egg packing, management of spent birds), while minimising impact to the environment and upholding the welfare of animals. This standard is applicable to chicken and quail layer farms only.
